Dogs & Cats: How We Work Around Pets

This is Reina.

She knows exactly when we pull up in front of the house. Is she scared? Not at all.

She is happy to see us because we have a routine.

First, she greets us. Then she inspects our supplies. After that, she patiently waits for her treat.

We cuddle with her for three minutes, and then we get to work.

During the service, she stays with her owners, so she is comfortable and we are not in each other’s way.

But she still comes to check on us sometimes — just to make sure we didn’t leave without giving her more treats.

At the end of the service, she gets extra treats for her bravery.

And yes, she knows exactly when treat time is coming.

Such a sweetheart.

Every household is different

Some pets are free around the home while we clean — and we love that, as long as they are well trained and comfortable with us.

They usually know the routine already.

When the vacuum comes out, we gently tell them:
“You know what’s happening. Go to the bedroom.”

And most of them actually go.

If they don’t, we gently guide them somewhere safe, especially while we vacuum or mop. Once the floors are dry, we let them out again before we leave.

Some pets prefer to stay with their owners while we clean, and that is completely fair too.

But please let us give them a few pets first.

It honestly brightens our day.

Yes, we carry treats

But we never give a treat to a dog without the owner’s permission first. We do not know every dog’s allergies, food restrictions, diet, or health needs, so this is non-negotiable.

We carry beef liver treats, which many dogs love, but we still need your approval first.

Some owners also like their dog to “work for it,” so we follow their routine and use the commands they prefer.

A few of our very serious commands include:

“Be cute.”
“Stay adorable.”
“Give me pets.”

Hard work, we know.

The reason we do this is simple: we do not want your pets to be afraid of us.

We want them to feel safe. We want them to recognize our car from the window and feel excited, not anxious.

We do not want scared tails, hiding, or stress. It is their home too, and they cannot explain how they feel.

So this is our small way of showing them love and building trust, even when we arrive with the scary vacuum, cleaning supplies, and smells they definitely notice — even when products are unscented.

If your pet is nervous, we never force interaction. We give them space, follow your instructions, and keep them safe while we clean.

Because a clean home should feel good for everyone living in it — pets included.

Cats are usually different

Most of them hide when we arrive, and we respect that. We do not chase them, force attention, or try to pull them out of their safe spot.

But we do have a few clients with very social cats. And believe me — they get a lot of attention.

We do not carry treats for cats, but they always get pets, soft voices, and full conversations from us. Most of them meow back. And yes, we absolutely love it.

Because pets are part of the home too. They may not understand why we are there with vacuums, supplies, and strange sounds, but they still deserve patience, kindness, and respect.

We only give treats with owner permission.
No exceptions. We do not know allergies, diets, health restrictions, or training rules.

Client-approved treats are always preferred.
We may carry dog treats, but if your pet has food restrictions, allergies, or you are not sure, please leave their own approved treat for us with clear instructions.

We follow the owner’s rules and commands.
If your dog needs to sit, stay, wait, go to a specific room, or follow a specific routine, we respect that.

We never force interaction.
If a pet is nervous, hiding, protective, or unsure, we give them space.

Pets must be safely managed during vacuuming, mopping, or when doors are open.
This protects your pet, your home, and our team.
